Reporting directly to the CIO, you will play a key role in the setting the strategy for the IT architecture across the business and IT systems. They are in an exciting state of its journey where they have yet to select some key business systems so you will have the ability to build a ground-breaking stack from scratch. Your designs and suggestions will carry gravitas and enable you to influence and direct the delivery of the enterprise business systems to time, cost and quality to the satisfaction of our stakeholders.
The IT department prides itself on a personalised service so you will be responsible for liaising with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
This position requires a strategic mind, meticulous attention to detail, ability to think out-of-the-box to understand how to structure and deliver the portfolio to meet expectations and challenge assumptions. The position also requires an ability to communicate clearly and articulately in combination with strong inter-personal skills. This may often be under challenging conditions.
The work will include:
Lead the building of the business architecture and technology portfolio based on the IT and business strategy. This includes:
Working with the business and IT to understand the strategic direction of the business.
IT Operations team: build a roadmap that takes us from where we are to the target in such a way that the operations team can maintain and operate the stack.
Working with the IT Security team: Ensure that Enterprise architecture is secure by design.
Work with the partners of the enterprise IT ecosystem to build a roadmap that is truly exceptional.
Understand and communicate the resources required for a successful implementation of the strategic roadmap.
Clearly communicate Risk and Issue mitigation as well as hold the master actions pertaining to the enterprise roadmap.
Participate in recruitment, orientation and ongoing training of new IT staff.
Supervise and direct IT personnel as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
15+ years' experience as an IT professional.
5+ years' experience as an Enterprise Architect
Built roadmaps that include the following: HR systems, ERP systems, Finance systems, CRM systems, Integration technologies eg ESBs
Exposure to Data lakes, AI, ML
Great understanding of the Microsoft Azure stack.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to clearly communicate a technical portfolio to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Understanding of ITIL and good appreciation of how to practically transform a design into a working set of systems.
