Purpose of the role:
The Tester role is responsible for the core activities of the test effort, which involves conducting analysis and test execution to new and existing applications and logging the outcomes of that testing, taking into account the customer journey.
Key Deliverables:
Duties to include but are not limited to:
To provide test analysis
To write test strategies and test summary reports as required
To write test cases
To execute tests as deemed necessary (including system/compatibility/security/automated and performance testing)
To liaise with developers and the business in resolving issues
To suggest improvements to the testing process and contribute to the testing strategy and testing policy
To support end users in testing activities
To support deployments
To produce other documentation as deemed necessary
To ensure that all regulatory guidelines are adhered to.
To adhere to the Company's procedure in accordance with the FCA guidelines and TCF (treating the customer fairly).
To be compliant with the Data Protection Act 1998.
To support Managers to manage the key risks within your department.
To ensure that you conduct your role in accordance with AFC policy (to act honestly and with integrity) and to report any suspected incidents of fraud and corruption.
To adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures, including Health & Safety, Equal Opportunities, Data Protection, Code of Conduct, Security, IT and Internal Control Financial Regulations.
To undertake any other duty or responsibility that may reasonably be allocated by your Manager/Company's Senior Management Team
Experience/Technical Knowledge:
Experience of testing methodologies, techniques, documentation and procedures in any capacity
Understanding of development processes and concepts
Previous experience accessing and manipulating data in a relational database (e.g. MSSQL)
Other significant Role Requirements:
Must be able to work under pressure to meet crucial deadlines
ISEB Qualified
Excellent problem solving skills
Technical Knowledge - Good appreciation of technical matters and their resolution
Knowledge of Internet and network technologies.
A methodical and practical approach, with excellent attention to detail
Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative
Ability to interact with all levels of seniority, both internal & external
A passion to learn Test Automation or any experience (self taught or commercial experience) desirable
