Test Manager

• They design, manage and implement a wide variety of card payment programmes and transaction processing services.

Key Result Areas:

• Strategic direction of testing and quality assurance
• Platform meets or exceeds metrics/SLAs related to availability, performance and security
• Processes and tools to support rapid test and deployment of new features in a DevOps organisation
• Assurance of work undertaken through onshore and offshore partners
• Recruitment and management of appropriately skilled engineers across quality assurance
• Effective line management, coaching and support of a team of QA engineers

Key Tasks:

• Define and deliver the QA strategy
• Ensure close alignment of standards, tools and best practices across Engineering
• Ensure testing covers functional, performance, security etc. to required standards
• Proactively seek to improve the speed, reliability and coverage of testing
• Embed QA engineers across appropriate squads whilst ensuring consistency and quality of approach
• Manage the environments and data needed for comprehensive testing
• Management of direct reports by:
• Monitoring the quality of the team's performance and providing regular feedback against the agreed goals.
• Career development and training

Core Skills:

• Significant commercial experience of developing and executing a QA strategy that encompasses functional and non-functional testing
• Management and leadership of teams of QA engineers, supporting day to day and career development
• Experience of identifying and selecting tools, standards and best practices
• Working with and quality assuring work undertaken by external partners on/offshore
• Significant experience of agile concepts and ideally DevOps principles and practices
• Strong decision making skills and a strong influencer, able to challenge the status quo
• An excellent communicator, able to articulate complex concepts to technical and non-technical people
