Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced IT Support contractor to join an exciting organisation based onsite in Bournemouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support and maintenance services, with a focus on desktop & server support.

You are an experienced 2nd/3rd level Infrastructure engineer with an ability to provide the technical expertise required to implement a variety of infrastructure projects, as well as take ownership for resolving 2nd/3rd level incidents and issues for the group.

The role is responsible for troubleshooting and improving the systems that keep the IT/Network infrastructure running smoothly, and this will require knowledge of a range of Infrastructure related technologies, including server hardware platforms, operating systems, networks, virtualisation technologies and security implementation.

The Senior IT Support Technician will be expected to:

  • Monitor & respond to service desk requests, resolving technical issues in a timely & efficient manner.
  • Ensure all IT services are delivered in a professional & effective manner.
  • Provide technical support for all users, responding to requests & queries in an appropriate manner.
  • Develop and maintain an effective system for the maintenance & upgrade of IT systems and services.
  • Provide technical advice & guidance to other departments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new technologies and industry trends.

Technical Environment (not all required):

  • 5 years minimum working at 2nd & 3rd line level in a role using the following technologies:
  • Windows server & desktop operating systems
  • Desktop, server & network infrastructure
  • Client side/server troubleshooting
  • Analogue & IP telephony systems & mobiles
  • O365 - front & back-end admin
  • MS365 security & user admin
  • AD (including. DNS, DHCP, GPO)
  • Remote access e.g. VPN, RDP.
  • Virtual servers - onsite & cloud.
  • Networking & protocols
  • Security systems, software & protocols
  • Monitoring systems
  • Cisco switches & routing networking & Cisco ASA firewalls
  • Anti-virus & cyber security admin
