Home - (Bristol & Glos Site Travel)Southern Lights are recruiting on behalf of a well-established organisation looking to bring in an IT Helpdesk Support Assistant to support users across multiple sites.
This is a great opportunity for someone with some hands-on IT support experience who enjoys being user-facing and wants to develop further in a structured environment.
The role
You’ll be providing first line IT support to around 150–200 users, helping resolve day-to-day issues and keeping systems running smoothly.
Typical responsibilities include:

Acting as the first point of contact for IT support queries

Managing and responding to tickets via the service desk

Supporting desktops, laptops, tablets and printers
-
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues
-
Assisting with AV equipment setup and support
-
Maintaining accurate IT asset registers
-
Supporting equipment setup, allocation and disposal (in line with compliance standards)
-
Working across multiple sites as required
What they’re looking for
-
Some experience in a 1st line or desktop support role
-
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and desktop applications
-
Basic understanding of IT troubleshooting and problem solving
-
Strong communication skills, comfortable dealing with users at all levels

Organised, able to prioritise and manage workload
-
Proactive attitude, willing to learn and take initiative
Desirable but not essential:
-
Experience with Active Directory

Exposure to Mac / Apple devices
-
Experience supporting AV equipment
